The Department of Public Health excels as a regional and national leader by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers, educators, community practitioners, and private sector leaders. We strive to address community health needs in a global community to eliminate health
disparities, and to increase the quality and years of healthy life. The Department of Public Health promotes and protects public health through quality education, research, and service. We emphasize disease prevention and treatment, empowerment, and collective as well as individual
responsibility for health and health care. Our collaborative partnerships contribute to meeting local, state, national and global public health needs through conducting research, training a diverse workforce, and promoting excellence in practice.
