If you graduated from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy program, are a US licensed physical therapist, and have at least nine months of clinical experience, you are eligible to apply to our program. This program will respect the energy and commitment you have brought to your career and help you continue to improve your patient care and professional growth by adding to your knowledge base. A schedule of projected course offerings in the transition Doctor of Physical Therapy (tDPT) program can be viewed here: tDPTCourseFlow.pdf Please consult http://www.temple.edu/bursar/about/tuitionrates.htm for additional information on tuition rates. Course work will be conducted over the Internet, in a simple format that allows students and faculty to share lecture material and assignments, to carry on discussions, and have opportunity for live discussions. The only technical requirement for participating in the program will be a computer with Internet access, a CD player, and Microsoft Office©. Courses will be offered Fall, Spring, and Summer to help busy clinicians plan a sequence of courses that fits within clinical and family obligations. All of the course activities will be related to each therapist’s clinical care, so that knowledge may be immediately applied to clinical practice. All course activities take place without travel to Philadelphia. We anticipate that each course will take about the same time as any three credit graduate course, in other words at least six hours a week. This time will be spent in reviewing material posted for you, doing the reading, completing assignments, and participating in on-line discussions. In addition there will be assignments that will all be based in your current clinical practice. (The courses will start at the beginning of the University semester start date and end on the University's semester calendar ( http://www.temple.edu/registrar/acad_calendars.html ), except for summer term, which will extend over both Summer Session I and Summer Session II.) |
