The innovative, interdisciplinary, and state-of-the-art MS in Health Informatics (HIM) program is an applied graduate degree that will focus on the design, development, and implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems in health care.
The MS in HIM is designed for physicians, nurses, therapists, health information management practitioners, administrators, or information technology professionals. The program is designed and offered in collaboration of the Health Information Management Department of the College of Health Professions with the Management Information Systems Department of the Fox School of Business.
This program is designed for working professionals. Classes will be offered on weekday evenings at one of Temple's conveniently located campuses. Although some courses may be offered on-line or in a hybrid approach, the interaction between disciplines from both the faculty and student perspective is a key component of the degree.
The MS in HIM consists of 30 credits (10 courses). Course work includes a work-related applied project and a graduate seminar. Topics include:

- EHR: Ethical, Legal, and Advocacy Aspects
- Leadership in the Health Professions
- Database Design, Development and Data Analysis
- Health Information Systems: Standards and Electronic applications
