Michael J. Gerg MS, OTR/L, CEES, CWCE earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy with an emphasis on adult disabilities and assistive technology from Temple University. His masters thesis examined the effect of length of training on assistive technology device usage with total hip arthroplasty patients. He has extensive experience working in adult physical disabilities in a variety of in-patient and out-patient settings. Mr. Gerg teaches adult physical disabilities application and theory, orthotics fabrication, and assistive technology courses and mentors entry-level masters students in research. He is certified in ergonomic evaluation and work capacity evaluation and has worked in the private sector consulting with companies like Kraft Foods, Lear Corporation, Trex, Toray, Valley Health, Hall Mechanical, and J.B. Hunt Trucking. He maintains his practice in hand injury treatment, ergonomic consulting, and injury prevention training. His research interests include workplace injury prevention programs, healthcare worker back injury prevention, functional capacity evaluation outcomes, and community access issues for people with disabilities.
