Application Process

 

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS DURING FOR STUDENTS INTENT ON ENTERING THE DPT PROGRAM JULY 6, 2010!

 

Applicants intending to enter the DPT Program on July 6, 2010 may begin the process by accessed PTCAS website.   In addition, applicants can obtain an overview of the admissions process and secure all necessary documents and information by downloading the Admissions Packet.

SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION MATERIALS

The supplemental application form includes an additional processing fee for the Temple University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program of $65.00.  This fee is in addition to the PTCAS fee.  The supplemental application check should be made payable to Temple University for $65.00 and must be mailed directly to Temple University.  The assigned PTCAS application number must be written on the  memo line of the check.  Please download, print and complete the Admission for Graduate Study – College of Health Professions – Temple University Form.

Recommendations for admission include:


• A completed undergraduate degree in any major with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 (A = 4.0).

• Completion of the ten pre-requisite courses all with a minimum GPA in each course of 2.0.

• GRE’s completed within 5 years of the admission date with scores equal to or greater than the fiftieth percentile in 2 of the 3 domains.

• Exposure to physical therapy profession by unpaid volunteerism or a paid clinical position.

• Submission of an essay detailing reasons why the applicant wishes to enter the field of Physical Therapy.

• Submission of two references; one from an academic source (preferably a full-time professor in the undergraduate discipline of study) and one from a practicing physical therapist.

A course description from the completed statistics course (may be “cut and pasted” from the on-line course bulletin) up to and including the level of hypothesis testing and basic inferential statistics (t-test, ANOVA, etc.).
