Graduate Student Awards

There are several awards available for graduate students in the Chemistry Department. Some of these are outlined below.

Daniel Swern Fellowship

The Swern Fellowship was established as a memorial to Professor Daniel Swern, a truly distinguished member of the Fels Research Institute and the Department of Chemistry. It was designed to help outstanding graduate students as they pursue their dissertation research.

Nomination Period: April 20th - May 20th

Francis H. Case Fellowship Fund

Dr. Francis Case was a professor of Organic Chemistry for 61 years at Temple University. Please contact the Chemistry Department for more information on this award.

Guy F. Allen Memorial Award

Mary Ellen Allen, to commemorate her husband's interest in graduate student participation in the education of undergraduate students and as a living memorial to her husband, started this fund as an award for outstanding Teaching Assistants. This award is given annually to outstanding T.A.'s in Chemistry for their excellence in teaching.

Nomination Period: July 20th - August 20th
