Richard J. Fox to Step Down as
Chairman of the Board of Trustees
of Temple University

On the announcement (June 14, 2000) by Richard J. Fox that he will step down on August 2, 2000 as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Temple University, following 17 years of distinguished service:

Richard J. Fox's tenure as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Temple University is unmatched. No one has served longer or contributed as mightily as Chairman Fox, nor with such personal modesty and humility, brilliance, sensitivity, humanity and openness -- and always pointing us towards the future.

Dick and I have been a team all these years. Dick Fox made us a winning team, singularly devoted to our adopted Temple University. I feel enormously blessed to have had him as my leader.
