INSTITUTIONAL DESCRIPTION: Public state-related institution in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth System of Higher Education, offering associate, baccalaureate, master's, first professional (M.D., J.D., D.D.S., and D.Pharm.), and doctoral degrees. The University comprises seventeen schools and colleges: The College of Liberal Arts, College of Science and Technology, The College of Engineering, College of Education, Fox School of Business and Management, School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, School of Communications and Theatre, Boyer College of Music, Tyler School of Art, School of Social Administration, Ambler College (with Landscape Architecture and Horticulture as its degree granting program), College of Allied Health Professions, School of Law, School of Dentistry , School of Pharmacy, School of Podiatric Medicine and School of Medicine. The schools and colleges are located on seven campuses (Main, Health Sciences, Ambler, Tyler, Center City, Fort Washington, and Harrisburg). Study abroad programs reviewed: London, England, 1991; Rome; Italy, 1989; and Paris, France, 1990. In June 2000, CHE reaffirmed accreditation.
PERIODIC REVIEW REPORTS: PRR submitted June 1994. In November 1994, CHE accepted the PRR and reaffirmed the accreditation; and requested a report by October 15, 1997, on: 1) support from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the effect of that support on the University's essential functions; and 2) results of the proposed study of graduate programs. In November 1997, CHE accepted the report.
