Cover Letter Workshop

Cover Letters should always be job specific!

There is no such thing as a general cover letter. Personalized, directed cover letters are what should always accompany your resume.

Cover Letters should have the same heading as your resume!

Market yourself on paper professionally and attractively. Show consistency through aesthetics.

Cover Letters should contain three main paragraphs!

  • Introduce yourself and state the position you are making application for. Tell where and/or how you heard of the position (through a newspaper ad, website, employee, job fair, etc)

  • Briefly discuss your directly related experience and education for the position applied for. Mention intern/extern experiences, school projects, direct work experience etc.

  • Refer back to your resume and contact information, request a personal interview at the employer's convenience and thank the employer.

Remember: Cover Letters should always contain an original signature! This makes the letter personal and authentic.

We can help you overcome roadblocks on your way to success. Obstacles aren't uncommon, so don't feel inadequate or defeated when you encounter them. Take action!
