Dream Camp Philadelphia is currently recruiting mentors for its after-school mentoring program that serves at-risk youth in Philadelphia. Mentors will work with a group of 3-5 students on academic support and literacy development. Additionally, mentors will utilize a variety of character development activities to increase the students’ self-esteem and help to establish a value system. Monthly projects, speakers, and family seminars are also incorporated into the program throughout the year. Currently Dream Camp Philadelphia serves 1st – 8th grade students. Mentors are required to commit to 2 afternoons per week, Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Program hours are from 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Prospective candidates should have prior experience working with children, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must be self-motivating with the ability to work independently.
