The Equestrian Club offers lessons in both English and Western. The club provides an excellent outlet for riders who have ridden all of their lives and want to continue in college or those who have never ridden before, but are interested in learning. We compete and train in both English and Western disciplines and train weekly out of Red Wing Farm.
As members of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) we compete against eleven clubs throughout our region, Zone 3, Region 2. Competition levels range from beginner walk/trot or walk/jog through open over fences (3ft) and open reining classes. Showing is not required (although lessons are), but highly recommended as it is a club bonding experience, and a opportunity to show off what you have learned. We compete in 10 English shows and 10 Western shows throughout the academic year. We end the year with regional and zome competitions, and a chance to go to nationals and an Award Banquet.
Outside of riding we try to arrange as many social and fundraising events as we can accommodate. We participate in these events so that we can afford small luxuries for team members i.e. apparel, show fees paid for, trips
