Welcome to the Center for African American Research and Public Policy!!

 

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Center for African American Research and Public Policy (CAARPP) website. We invite you to explore the site to discover the many resources, events and programs we offer. Such as, the Then and Now: Black Power, Black Identity, and Current Social Issues Lecture Series, the Annual Whirlwind Conference, Various Academic Conferences, Community Events and Workshops. The Center for African American Research and Public Policy was initiated in 2007 with funding from the Common Wealth of Pennsylvania. CAARPP is dedicated to disseminating research and policy initiatives relevant to the African American Community.

 

Our Mission


The Center for African American Research and Public Policy is dedicated to the development, defense, and empowerment of the African American community in Philadelphia. CAARPP focuses on four particular areas: Education, Economic Development, Health and Family & Crime and Justice. Task forces have been formed for each of these areas to facilitate the development of relevant and well-defined research that will be used to better understand current issues facing African American communities. We will work collaboratively with public officials, local businesses, academic institutions and community leaders in order to bolster our efforts..........more
