1. What are e-bills?
E-bills are online student billing statements that display student-related financial activity such as tuition, fees, housing, financial aid and payments. E-bills will be available on TUpay, Temple University’s online billing and payment system.
2. How does e-billing work?
You will receive an e-mail when your e-bill is available to view and pay in TUpay. The e-mail will be sent to your official University e-mail account. If you have authorized other payers in TUpay (such as parents, a guardian, a spouse or third party sponsor) and they have listed an e-mail address in TUpay, they will also receive e-mail notification when the e-bill is available.
3. How can I pay my e-bill?
Bills can be paid three ways:
a) Via TUPay: Payment is accepted by either e-check or credit card; however, you are not required to pay online.
E-check is a fast and secure method to electronically pay your e-bill from a checking or savings account. There is no convenience fee when paying by e-check.
Credit Card: MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted. If you pay by credit card, the TUpay vendor will assess a non-refundable 2.75% convenience fee.
b) By mailing a check and bill remittance to our P.O. Box listed on the remittance.
c) In person: cash or checks accepted at all Bursar Office locations (Harrisburg does not accept cash.)
4. Can I mail my payment?
We encourage you to make your payment online but , if you wish to mail your payment, please print your bill and detach and include the payment remittance form at the bottom of the bill with your payment. Write your TU ID on the memo line at the bottom of the check. Mail the payment to the address indicated on the remittance form.
5. What are the benefits of e-billing?
- Student privacy – the bill is now available on website not listing student grades, roster, etc.
- Parents or other authorized payers can view the bill prior to submitting payment.
- Automatic e-mail notification when bills are issued.
- More time to receive, review and pay the bill prior to the due date.
- Easier to read bill due to greater design flexibility.
- Convenient access – available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
- Information is secure and confidential – only you and those you authorize can see your e-bills and payment history.
- Access up to 16 months of billing history and unlimited payment history.
- Parents or other authorized payers can receive e-mail notification when e-bills are available.
6. How do I access my e-bill?
Log into TUpay (http://tupay.temple.edu/) or log intoTUportal at http://tuportal.temple.edu/ and enter your accessnet username and password (the information you enter to access your Temple e-mail account). Click on the button on the TUportal homepage to connect to TUpay to view your bill and/or make a payment. Once in TUpay, select “View Accounts” - "Most Recent E-bill" from the menu on the left to view your most recent bill. Click on the “PDF Printable Statement” to print a copy of your bill.
7. How do authorized payers access my e-bill?
Authorized payers log into TUPay at http://tupay.temple.edu/. Once in TUpay, select “View Accounts” from the menu on the left to view the most recent bill. Click on the “PDF Printable Statement” to print a copy of the bill.”
8. As an authorized payer, what do I do if I forget my login name or password?
On the Authorized Payer Login page, select either "Forgot Login Name" or "Forgot Password" and follow the instructions. If you choose "Forgot Login Name", you will be prompted to enter the email address used to establish your access. A new password will be e-mailed to that address. Please note if you have payment profiles created, an additional verification step will be required for your protection.
If you choose "Forgot Password", you will be prompted to enter your login name. A temporary password will be e- mailed to your address on file. You will be forced to reset your temporary password the next time you login.
9. How do I authorize my parents or others to view and/or pay my e-bill?
In TUpay, select “Authorize Payers” from the menu on the left and complete the requested information to create a user name and password. Be sure to include an e-mail address to ensure your authorized payer will receive an e-mail when e-bills are available. Once it is set up, give your authorized payers their username and password.
10. What do I do if I forget my pin number?
You can have your pin number re-set within 24 hours by going to Student Financial Services (Ground Floor of Conwell Hall) or contacting them at 215.204.2244
11. How do I view charges or payments posted after the e-bill was generated?
In TUpay, click view accounts - student account details from the submenu to view
up-to-the-minute transactions posted to the student account.
12. What is the difference between "Student Account Details" and "Most recent e-bill" under view accounts in TUpay.
The most recent e-bill page reflects the latest e-bill posted in TUpay for you. Refer to the e-bill to see the statement activity "as of..." date; this will let you know the last entry date for any activity reflected on your e-bill. The student Account Detail's Page reflects up to the minute transactions posted to the student account. This page will include charges and/or payments posted to your account after the generation of the e-bill.
13. Can I receive a paper bill?
No, since e-mail is the official means of communication for Temple University, only e-bills will be issued.
14. How do I print a copy of my bill?
In TUpay, select “View Accounts” from the menu on the left to view your most recent bill. Click on the “PDF Printable Statement” to print a copy of your bill.”
15. How can I print a copy of my bill for my employer or sponsor?
You have two options:
- Print out the bill and mail it to your employer or sponsor. (see question 13 for printing instructions.)
- You can give your employer or sponsor access as an authorized payer. Include their e-mail address and they will receive an e-mail notification when the bill is available for viewing, printing and/or paying.
16. How can I view and/or print my bill if I do not have a computer at home?
Your options include:
- You can access any computer on campus, including the new TECH Center, to view and/or print your bill.
- Visit a public library or internet cafe to access your bill.
- Your summer employer may have a computer available to access your bill.
- Ask a family member or friend who has a computer to access your bill
17. How can my family obtain my bill if they do not have access to a computer?
If others normally pay your bill and they do not have access to a computer, you
can print the bill and mail it to them or simply provide them with the balance
due and the payment mailing address (the payment address is located at the bottom
of the bill).
18. Why doesn't my E-bill show the payment I just made?
* Your E-bill will not change as payments are made since the bill is static. Refer
to the E-bill to see the statement activity “as of…” date; this will let you
know the last entry date for any activity reflected on your E-bill.
* Click view accounts - student account details in TUpay to view up-to-the-minute transactions posted to the student account, including payments that you just made.
* You can view your online payment history in TUpay by choosing
Transaction History.
