Up to two upper level courses outside of the department will count as electives if they relate to the major as approved by the department advisor. MINOR IN RUSSIANPrerequisites: Russian 0051 and 0052 or equivalent placement with a minimum grade of C. Required courses: 6 courses from the Russian curriculum, including Russian 0149 or 0150.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPECIAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE CERTIFICATE IN RUSSIAN **Prerequisites: None Required courses: 20 credit hours in the sequence listed below. Students may choose either Russian W231, or 0232 or an upper level course approved by the Russian adviser.
Note: If students test out of Russian 0051-0052, C061-0062, they are expected to take courses on the 0l00, 0200, or 300 level to equal a minimum of the total number of credits required. To be considered for Distinction in Major, students must: (1) Complete the requirements for the concentration in Russian with a GPA of at least 3:50; (2) Be recommended to the Chair of the department by the Russian faculty advisor: (3) Have an overall GPA of at least 3:25
