The Arts

Works of art - painting, sculpture, architecture, music, theater, dance, literature - are among the most significant representations of the cultures that produce them. Through the integration of intuitive and intellectual responses, students gain a sensitivity to the expressiveness of the Arts.  Core Arts courses also suggest the wider implications of art in historical and social contexts.

Requirement: One three-credit course from this list.

Note:  Core courses no longer offered by departments have been removed from this list, but students who took them will receive Core credit, as indicated in their DARS document. Questions about the past, present, or future Core status of a course can be answered by the Core and Transfer Office.
