New Voice and Opera Scholarship Established

A new scholarship fund has recently been endowed to honor Philip Y. Cho, Professor Emeritus in Voice and Opera.  This fund will assist the highest level graduate students of voice and opera at the Boyer College of Music and Dance. Cho retired from Boyer's faculty last year.

In addition to teaching highly successful singers heard all around around the globe, Cho's career as a tenor has included performances at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, and The Philadelphia Orchestra, and in 52 major opera roles with the Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and Metropolitan Opera.  He holds degrees from Seoul University and the Juilliard School of Music.
