Dr. Christine Anderson to receive 2014 Boyer College Distinguished Teaching Award

Dr. Christine Anderson, Chair of the Department of Voice and Opera and Associate Professor at the Boyer College, will receive the 2014 Distinguished Teaching Award at the May 15 Boyer commencement ceremony. Each year, the Music and Dance Teaching Academy Committee selects a faculty member to receive the award.


Dr. Anderson has taught at Temple since 1989 and has sung numerous performances as soprano soloist with several prestigious contemporary music ensembles. She has had extensive performing experience as a recitalist in programs featuring the premieres of new works.  She has presented master classes and papers at national and international conferences and has served as clinician for several organizations including the Taipei Philharmonic Foundation for culture and education, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Classical Singer and the Marian Anderson Historical Society. She has also served as pre-concert lecturer for the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
