Soprano Julie Bishop is active as a performer, teacher, and academic.  She holds a BM in voice performance from Susquehanna University, where she was a featured performer with the University Choir and Chamber Singers as well as the opera workshop program.  Ms. Bishop completed a MM in voice performance at Temple University in May 2005, where she was awarded the Florence Berggren voice scholarship and held a full teaching assistantship.  She is currently a DMA student in voice performance at Temple and studies with Christine Anderson.  An active participant in Temple's opera productions, Ms. Bishop has sung Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Sall in Die Fledermaus, and White Dove in the world premier of Violet Fire in addition to numerous roles in opera scenes.  She has also performed Belinda in Dido and Aeneas with Intermezzo Opera and Pitti-Sing in The Mikado with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Chester County.  Ms. Bishop studies musical theatre voice with renowned pedagogue Robert Edwin.

Ms. Bishop has appeared three times as a featured artist with the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra.  She has sung Berio's O King with the Temple University Contemporary Ensemble, and has also performed the soprano solos in Fauré's Requiem and Haydn's Creation.  Ms. Bishop performed with the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca and studied art song at SongFest.  She has appeared on masterclasses given by renowned collaborative pianist Martin Katz, composers John Harbison and Jake Heggie, and soprano Dawn Upshaw.

Ms. Bishop is a member of the adjunct music faculty at Temple University, and also operates a private voice studio in her home.
