The percussion program at Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance is designed to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge required for successful careers in music performance and music education.

The program services many organizations, curriculae, and other programs.  These include:  all instrumental ensembles, the Music Education Curriculum, the Opera Department, Jazz Studies, the Choral Department, and the Department of Composition.

Upon graduation each student is expected to have knowledge of music history theory, style, basic piano skills, and extensive solo and ensemble performance proficiency.  It is our goal that each student be able to perform, at an advanced technical and artistic level in each of the areas of snare drum, timpani, keyboard percussion, and multi-percussion.  Experience in Latin percussion and jazz is also emphasized.
