FALL 2011: nEW faCULTY APPOINTMENTS

 

Dr. Sherril Dodds, Chair and Professor, Department of Dance, comes to Boyer from the University of Surrey (UK) where she was head of the Department of Dance, Film and Theatre, Director of Postgraduate Research and Senior Lecturer in Dance Studies.

Dr. Paul Rardin, Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Choral Activities, comes to Boyer from the University of Michigan where he was Associate Director of Choirs.

Dr. Emily Threinen, Director of Bands and Associate Professor, Department of Instrumental Studies, comes to Boyer from Shenandoah Conservatory where she was Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music.

Dr. Wendy Magee, Associate Professor, Department of Music Education and Therapy.  Dr. Magee completed undergraduate study in music therapy at the University of Melbourne, Australia and graduate study at the Royal College of Music in London. 

Dr. Nathan Buonviri, Assistant Professor, Department of Music Education and Therapy.  Dr. Buonviri received his Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Southern Methodist University and his PhD in Music Education from Temple University.

Mr. Phillip O'Banion, Assistant Professor, Department of Instrumental Studies (percussion), has been a member of Boyer's adjunct percussion faculty, was interim coordinator of the percussion area and is a frequent guest musician with The Philadelphia Orchestra.

Mark Filsinger, Assistant Professor (Teaching/Instructional), Department of Music Education and Therapy. 

Vladimir Dyo, Assistant Professor (Teaching/Instructional), Department of Instrumental Studies (violin).

Allen Krantz,  Assistant Professor (Teaching/Instructional), Department of Instrumental Studies (Guitar)

Lorie Gratis, Assistant Professor (Teaching/Instructional), Department of Voice and Opera
