Cynthia Folio's compositions for flute will be presented in a 50-minute program at the

National Flute Association Annual Convention in Charlotte, NC on August 13, 2011. Dr. Folio is Associate Professor of Music Theory at the Boyer College of Music and Dance, Temple University.

Professional flutists from around the country (California, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Iowa, New York, and Pennsylvania) who have either recorded or premiered these compositions have agreed to perform them at the convention. The concert will feature an east-coast premiere of a commissioned work (that will have its world premiere in Wisconsin in March) and a world premiere of a work for piccolo and piano that will be composed especially for this concert.
