2005 Boyer College Awards Ceremony

Each year, the Boyer College presents awards and honors to many of our outstanding students.  The 2005 Awards Ceremony was held in Rock Hall Auditorium on Wednesday, May 18th at 4:30PM.  Congratulations to all of our award winning students!

 

DR. DAVID STONE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Presented in memory of Dr. David Stone, Founding Dean of our College, to a member of the junior class who will be a senior next year and who has been at Temple for three years with the highest grade point average.

THE FRANCES HUTTON MEMORIAL AWARD

This award is given annually to support a Music Therapy student at Temple. The award is given by Vincent Cardillo, in memory of his wife Joanne, who was helped during her final hours through Music Therapy.

Is given to an outstanding undergraduate percussion major deserving of financial assistance, who has made significant progress as a musician and percussionist, has exhibited high moral and ethical character, has made positive contributions to the betterment of his or her fellow percussionist, and the mission of the percussion program and the Esther Boyer music community.

THE GLENN STEELE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student demonstrating outstanding work in the percussion program for his or her sophomore or junior year, chosen by Glenn Steele, percussion program director.

Established by Mrs. Lena Chivian, his mother, and Marvin Leonard Chivian, his brother, in memory of Howard Chivian, B.S., Temple University, class of 1943; M. Ed. 1952; Director of the Diamond Band. The award is presented to a member of the graduating class in recognition of excellence in the field of music and service to the Temple University Diamond Band.
