Jillian Harris, a 1993 National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts award winner in Dance, received her B.F.A. in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. She toured nationally and internationally with Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company as a professional dancer and teacher, performing works by such noted choreographers as Murray Louis, Doug Varone, and Moses Pendleton. Jillian was also a featured performer in the PBS televised broadcast of Della Davidson’s “Night Story”. In 2000, Jillian worked under Harriet Fulbright with President Clinton’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities in Washington, D.C., and later became assistant director of the Columbia Festival of the Arts. Upon receiving her MFA from NYU’s Tisch Department of Dance, she went on to perform with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet and, today, continues to perform with Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers. Most recently, she toured to Singapore as part of a collaboration with Singapore Dance Ensemble. In addition to performing, Jillian has maintained an active teaching schedule, conducting master classes in the U.S. and abroad as well as serving as an adjunct professor of dance at Queens College from 2004-08.
