Katz Scholarship Fund shortly after David died in a car accident in 1992. David was a dedicated, enthusiastic and free-spirited musician, and this fund is a lasting tribute to his life so that other dedicated musicians have the opportunity to pursue their passion for music. To date, 48 scholarships been awarded to recipients who have gone on to careers as educators and professional musicians. Each fall, the Katz family hosts a Golf Tournament followed by dinner and silent auction to benefit the endowed scholarship fund, which has surpassed $400,000.
