Temple University’s tuition rates
reflect a subsidy from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The difference
in base tuition between Temple and other institutions should be considered
when comparing financial aid offers from colleges.
Students applying for Need-Based Financial Aid must submit
the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The priority
deadline is March 1st.

MUSIC
SCHOLARSHIPS
With the exception of the Temple University/Mellon Jazz Scholarship, all undergraduate applicants to the Boyer College will be considered for Music Scholarships and University Scholarships. No separate application is required.
Boyer Grants
Applicants to Bachelor of Music degree programs will be considered
for scholarship based primarily on musical merit by audition. Music
scholarships may cover all or a portion of tuition costs. Scholarship
monies do not cover Room and Board costs and additional fees. Scholarships
are typically available to students entering in the fall semester
only.

Temple Scholar Awards
Eligibility: Academic
merit scholarships for entering freshmen (and transfers with fewer
than 15 credits). Recipients are generally in the top 15% of their
high school graduating classes with standardized test scores well
above average. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years as
long as students maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
Amount: Awards generally
range from $1000 to $7500 per year.
Application/selection:
No separate application is required. Recipients are selected by
the Office of Undergraduate Admissions based on credentials submitted
with the application for admission, and generally are notified with
their acceptance letter. Students who apply to Temple before March
1 have the best opportunity to be selected for Temple Scholar Awards.
Philadelphia Outstanding Achievement Scholarships
Eligibility: Entering
freshmen living and attending high school in Philadelphia. Recipients
are generally in the top 10% of their high school graduating classes.
Scholarships are renewable for four years with the provision they
maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Amount: Awards range from $1,000 to full
tuition.
Application/selection:
Students are nominated by their high school and must apply for admission
to Temple by February 15th . A University committee reviews the
nominees and notifies schools and students of their awards, usually
by March 15th. Up to three students may be selected from each nominating
high school. Interested students should contact their high school
guidance counselor by January 1.
Pennsylvania Governor’s School Merit Scholarship
Eligibility: Entering
freshmen who are graduates of one of the Pennsylvania Governor’s
Schools of Excellence and have scored at least 1150 on the SAT as
well as ranking in the top 25% of their graduating class are eligible.
Awards are renewable for up to four years.
Amount: $2,500 awards.
Application/selection: No separate application is required. Students should submit a copy
of the Governor's Schools of Excellence Certification with their
Temple University application. Students must apply to Temple
before March 1st. Recipients are selected by the Office of Undergraduate
Admissions based on credentials submitted with the application for
admission, and are notified with their acceptance letter.
FINANCIAL AID
Temple University offers federal, state and institutional need-based
financial aid to students who qualify. For consideration, students
must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by the priority deadline of March 1st.
The Temple University Main Campus FAFSA Code for undergraduate applicants
is 003371. Entering this code on the FAFSA will ensure a score
report is sent to Temple University.
