undergraduate dance admissions
Audition Information Once your Temple application has been submitted, please contact dance@temple.edu to schedule your audition date. Please include your name, TU ID (9 digit number beginning with 9), and two preferred dates in the email. Audition dates and application deadlines for Spring 2012 and Fall 2012:
Applicants who are unable to attend any of the audition dates may send a video audition instead. Click here for BFA video audition information. The BFA Dance application is due two weeks prior to your audition date; this is a supplement to the Temple University Undergraduate Application. The dance audition consists of a technique class divided into sections of ballet, modern, and African dance; a 1 minute solo of an applicant's own choreography; and an interview. The faculty attempts to choose students with physical, artistic, and intellectual potential to enter and complete the dance program and the University Core. The faculty is concerned that potential students' goals and aspirations are supported by the department philosophy, maximizing success in the program. Applicants will be mailed audition results no later than four weeks following the audition.
