Thank you for your interest in the graduate dance programs at Boyer College of Music and Dance.  Performance, choreography, scholarship and education are of the highest caliber at Boyer College, and our community is comprised of exceptionally talented and collaborative individuals.

Boyer’s Dance Department has a holistic approach towards the development of the student as artist, choreographer, teacher and researcher, and focuses on developing individual creativity. The Dance Faculty seek to prepare students as critical thinkers who can shape the field of dance scholarship and professional practice.

Boyer’s graduate programs in Dance are intensive programs that immerse students in research and the creative process.  

 

The Master of Education in Dance is a two-year program highlighting the relationship between artist and educator within a philosophical framework that values dance as a mode of lifelong expression and learning.  

 

The MFA in Dance is a three-year, terminal degree program where dance professionals can be mentored by fellow artists and master teachers as they hone their craft and realize a well-articulated artistic vision.

 

The PhD program provides a rich environment for graduate research in dance through a diverse array of courses, a public seminar series, a biennial symposium and a rigorous advising process with experienced faculty.
