Audition Information

Audition dates and application deadlines for the 2008-2009 academic year:

Friday, January 30 , 2009

(Application deadline January 12)

Audition date for University Fellowship, Graduate Teaching Assistantship and Adjunct Faculty consideration.

Friday, February 27, 2009

(Application deadline February 9)

The dance audition consists of a technique class divided into sections of modern and African dance; a 3-5 minute solo of an applicant's own choreography for MFA applicants or a 5-7 minute presentation on a topic of interest for EdM and PhD applicants; an on-site writing sample for PhD applicants; and an interview.  

The faculty attempts to choose students with physical, artistic, and intellectual potential to enter and complete the dance program. The faculty is concerned that potential students' goals and aspirations are supported by the department philosophy, maximizing success in the program.

The Graduate School will mail admission decisions once the university application and dance application requirements are complete.
