High School Marching Band Day

Band Day 2017 will be held on Saturday, November 18 at the Temple vs. UCF football game.

Kickoff time has been announced! The game will kickoff at NOON, so follow the schedule below.

High School students wanting to participate in the 2017 Temple University Marching Band Day, registration is still OPEN!! Come spend a day with the Diamond Band and get a taste of what being part of a college marching band is all about.


Band Day registration is $25 plus family and friends can get reduced tickets for $25 (end zone), $30 (sideline), or $45 (Club level), plus $10 per order. So invite your friends!

7:00 AM - Check In at South Philadelphia Super Site (10th and Bigler)

8:00 AM - Rehearsal begins

9:00 AM - March to the Stadium

9:30 AM - Tailgate Luch

11:00 AM - Enter stadium

11:35 AM - Pregame Show

Noon - Kickoff -- GO OWLS!!!

Music for the day will be emailed after registration. For Instruments with multiple parts (trumpet, trombone), pick whichever part you are most comfortable with. (Hint: all parts are equally challenging.... 1st, 2nd or 3rd parts have more to do with how high you can play than anything else.)

FOOD - We will be tailgating (for participating students only), so we will have typical cookout food (burgers and hot dogs). If there are any dietary concerns/issues please let us know. You can tell Matt when he calls or send me an email. We will have options for vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/ and tree nut allergies. Let us know your preference on the registration form so we reserve enough food, OR let us know if there are any other requirements.

REHEARSAL - Rehearsal will take place at the South Philadelphia Super Site, located at the corner of S.10th St. and Bigler St., just north of Citizen's Bank Park (for those who have attended Band Day in the past.... the same place). You may park at the Super Site for rehearsal, however when rehearsal is done, all cars must be moved (and DO NOT park at the church across the street!). Parents are welcome to stay and watch rehearsal!

GAME PARKING - Game parking is on your own in the paid lots around Lincoln Financial Field. 

T-SHIRTS - T-shirts will be distributed AFTER HALFTIME. We will take you to the opposite tunnel from where we sit, you can pick up your shirt there, give you a peek of the inner sanctums of Lincoln Financial Field, then back to your seats. 

UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT - All students must bring their own instruments or equipment to rehearsal without cases. We cannot provide instruments, and we do not have any place to store cases. Guard members will only need to bring a flag. All students are asked to wear their High School Marching Band uniform. If you do not have a uniform or go to a school that does not have a marching band, please wear your school colors (or Temple colors if you'd rather). 

DISMISSAL - After halftime, students are free to go OR they can stay and play in the stands with the Diamond Band. We usually try to bring the students who stay into the ranks so you can get a feel for the pace of what the band does at a college football game. The Diamond Band members can share some of the stands music (they have it all memorized, anyway).
