John Sall has assisted the Temple faculty as Women’s Choir conductor, instructor of undergraduate conducting courses, and by covering occasional contemporary music ensemble rehearsals since receiving the Master’s degree. Sall also serves Abington Presbyterian Church as Director of Music Ministries, leading youth, adult, and handbell choirs and the Abington Symphony Orchestra and overseeing congregational music and the Music at Abington concerts. Sall studied choral conducting with Alan Harler at Temple and was honored with the Elaine Brown Tribute Award for “relating music to broader issues of community-building and human expression.” He won first prize in the initial Young Composers Competition sponsored by the Riverside Church in the City of New York and has published percussion performance suggestions for global music in the With One Voice hymnal and Anton Armstrong’s earthsongs choral series.
