      Gay Morris is a dance and art critic and historian whose work has appeared in numerous publications, including Dance Research, Dance Research Journal, ARTnews, and Body and Society. She is a frequent contributor to Art in America and Dance View. Morris is the author of A Game for Dancers: Performing Modernism in the Postwar Years, 1945-1960 (Wesleyan University Press 2006), which won the 2007 De La Torre Bueno Award for outstanding contribution to dance literature. She is also the editor of an anthology, Moving Words, Rewriting Dance (Routledge 1996). With Jens Richard Giersdorf she is currently editing a collection entitled Choreographies of Twenty-First Century War. Morris is a member of the International Art Critics Association (AIAC) and serves on the editorial boards of Congress on Research in Dance (CORD) and the Society of Dance History Scholars (SDHS). She is the reviews editor for Dance Research Journal.
