Dr. Billy Yalowitz is the co-director of the Cross-Disciplinary Arts in Community Program at Temple University/Tyler School of Art. He has directed dance and theatre works Off-Broadway and at regional theaters in Philadelphia. Yalowitz’s critically acclaimed community-based performance productions in Philadelphia neighborhoods have been featured in national conferences, in the New York Times, The Jerusalem Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and on National Public Radio. Yalowitz was named Best Choreographer by the Philadelphia City Paper, was nominated for a Barrymore Award in Philadelphia for his movement-theater work, and has received grants from the Rockefeller Foundation and the James L. Knight Foundation, among others.
