Dr. Walter E. Jordan-Davis is currently serving as the Director of Planning and Development at Temple University’s Office of Partnership Schools. He is responsible for creating and executing a strategic planning process that outlines the mission priorities and the corresponding fundraising effort that will support the goals of the Office of Partnership Schools. Prior to this position Dr. Jordan-Davis served as the Director of Graduate Initiatives at Educational Testing Service (ETS), within the company’s Division of Higher Education. In this capacity he was responsible for developing a research agenda that focused on the development and implementation of ETS products, services, and assessments particularly as these relate to the increasing international and domestic diversity of ETS clients. Before moving to ETS’s Princeton headquarters in January 1998, Dr. Jordan-Davis served as a Program Administrator at the company’s Western Field Office (1993-98), providing direction to several ETS programs based in California. Prior to this, he was a Field Service Representative in ETS’s Southwest Field Service Office in Austin, Texas (1990-93). Before joining ETS, Dr. Jordan-Davis worked for the Texas Educational Agency as a Division Director in the area of Accreditation, directing the agency’s research, evaluation, and assessment efforts aimed at assessing the organizational effectiveness of selected Texas school systems. He worked as a Senior Research Specialist at Powell Associates, Inc. in Austin, Texas, providing technical assistance to school systems through a Chapter 1 Technical Assistance Center funded by the Department of Education. He served as the Director of the Austin Independent School District’s Chapter 1 Evaluation Team in the district’s Office of Research and Evaluation. He was also an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Jordan-Davis received his Bachelor’s degree and his Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Throughout his career, Dr. Jordan-Davis has provided research, planning, development, and evaluation services to educational systems in a variety of settings at the federal, state, and local district level. He has worked closely with members of several Texas and California school districts on program evaluation and improvement efforts. He has also conducted several institutional evaluation efforts for Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions to help them accelerate their capability and capacity to increase persistence and assistance efforts for undergraduate and graduate students.Dr. Jordan-Davis has served on the board of several non-profit organizations in Texas, California, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He was elected to membership in Phi Kappa Phi in 1984. His principal interest is strategic planning with a focus on escalating program impact.
