Music Education Major JoAnn Mollo Wins State Conducting Award

Bachelor of Music (Music Education, Flute Concentration) candidate student JoAnn Mollo ('13) took first place in a statewide conducting competition as part of the American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania Chapter Fall Conference last month. She was competing against students from six other Pennsylvania colleges and universities, and was selected by a professional panel of regionally distinguished collegiate conductors. The honor came with a cash prize.
Joann's hometown is Brackney, PA. She has sung with church and school groups since age seven and started studying flute at age 12. JoAnn is a student of Dr. Emily Threinen, Director of Bands, and is former president of Temple's ACDA student chapter. Along with a full course load and ensemble rehearsals and performances, JoAnn is a student teacher.
