Director of Bands

Department of Dance: Associate or Full Professor, Tenured or tenure-track appointment in Dance. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as dance faculty and department chair; teach graduate and undergraduate courses in dance related to the candidate’s expertise; cultivate and maintain relationships with professional associations and area schools/teachers to facilitate visibility and recruitment; participate in Institute of Dance Scholarship; contribute to development of undergraduate and graduate dance programs; maintain visible profile and active program of scholarly and/or creative activity; engage in appropriate service to the College, the University, and the profession.

QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in Dance, Dance Studies, or a related discipline required. Outstanding record of scholarly publication and/or creative achievement in the field of Dance and Dance scholarship. Significant experience in academic administration preferred. Ability to inspire gifted students.

Instrumental Music

POSITION: Full-time appointment in Instrumental Music – Director of Bands

RANK/SALARY: Assistant or Associate Professor, Tenure track appointment in Instrumental Studies.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Director of Bands; oversee all university bands and conduct premier university

wind ensemble. Teach courses related to the candidate’s expertise. Develop and maintain national and

international profile. Cultivate and maintain relationships with professional associations. Work in tandem

with musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Active and highly visible in recruitment of outstanding students at

local, regional, national, and international levels. Engage in appropriate service to the College, the University,

and the profession. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Outstanding artistic accomplishments as a wind ensemble conductor. Established

reputation as a conductor and teacher with a consistent record of creativity and/or scholarship required.

Ph.D./D.M.A preferred; Master’s degree required.
