Properties of Carbon Nanotubes and other Carbon Material
Our current interests focus on:
- Identification and quantification of chemical functionalities on the surfaces of carbon materials, including nanotubes
- Photophysical properties of carbon nanotubes
- Carbon nanotube purification methods for the efficient removal of carbon and metallic impurities
Dynamic oxidation, a novel purification method of single-walled carbon nanotubes, being ~10 faster than a traditional isothermal oxidation, yields nanotubes that are nearly free from carbon impurities.
