The Borguet Group welcomes four new undergraduate members, Jennifer Clift, Vivian Liu, Lan Nguyen, and Alex Shubin. May 2010
These students joined the Borguet Group to work on projects which relate to their research interests.
Roozbeh Ghavami has left the Borguet Group to carry out future goals in Medical School. April 2010
After completing his research project with the Borguet group, Roozbeh Ghavami has resumed his medical studies at St. Kitts in the Caribbean Islands, where he will complete his course work before moving to either Europe or US to do residency rounds. Roozbeh has played an irreplaceable role in the group and we are very happy he is getting to do what he always wanted and wish him great success.
Devika Sil, graduate student, joined Borguet Group. April 2010
Devika joined the Borguet Group to work on projects which relate to her research interests in optics, non-linear phenomena, material science and nano technology.
Gordon (Cheuk Fai) Chiu was Awarded the Richard Asher Paclin Memorial Prize. April 2010
Gordon has been selected as the recipient of the Richard Asher Paclin Memorial Prize. Gordon has demonstrated an outstanding record of achievement, showed great promise of a future development in the field of chemistry, and attained the highest scholastic average.
Dr. Doug Hausner, a visiting scholar, joined Borguet Group. March 2010
Dr. Hausner will be working on projects involving the development of chemical sensors while here with the Borguet Group.
Borguet Group is mentioned in the Time Magazine for collaboration on a NASA project. March 2010
Aseem Malhotra was Awarded the URIF Grant. March 2010
Aseem has been awarded the Undergrdaute Research Incentive Fund (URIF) Travel Grant by the Office of the Senior Vice Provost of Undergraduate Studies. The grant will cover all expenses as Aseem travels to California to present his research at the American Medical Student Association's (AMSA) 60th National Convention. Aseem has been accepted to present the poster titled "Detection of antibody binding events via AFM and fluorescence microscopy for calibration of piezoelectric microcantilever sensor (PEMS) response" (Category: Basic Science).
Aseem Malhotra was Awarded the Top Undergraduate Poster Prize. January 2010
Aseem was awarded one of three Top Undergraduate Poster Prizes at the 5th Annual Undergraduate Poster Session sponsored by The Philadelphia Section of the American Chemical Society. Aseem won for the poster titled "Surface Characterization of Piezoelectric Microcantilever Sensor (PEMS) via Atomic Force Microscopy and Fluorescence."

Sepideh Afsari, graduate student, joined Borguet Group.
Shalaka Dewan, graduate student, joined Borguet Group.
Aziz Boulesbaa, a visiting researcher, joined Borguet Group.
Aziz joined the Borguet Group to study Time-Resolved Sum-Frequency Generation (SFG) at the aqueous interfaces by using the laser technology that the Borguet Group has developed.
Sedigheh Hassani, a visiting researcher, joined Borguet Group.
Sedigheh joined the Borguet group to
recieve training in the Scanning Probe Microscopy field and to participate in some of Dr. Borguet's projects.
