I was born and raised in Sapporo, Japan. I studied science at Hokkaido University and its graduate school. I received a B.S. in 1999, M.S. in 2001 and PhD in 2004 for the work I have done in Uosaki laboratory in the Chemistry Department. The title of my Ph.D. thesis is “Sum Frequency Generation Study on Molecular Structures at Solid/Liquid Interfaces”

My research projects at Temple University were “Vibrational spectroscopy and dynamics of interfaces by ultrafast sum frequency generation” and “Nonlinear optical study of molecular adsorption on mineral surfaces.”
