Dr. Andrii Buvailo, andrii[at]temple.edu

Andrii Buvailo was a PhD student from Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv majoring in the field of adsorption-semiconductor gas sensors under supervision of Dr. Ludmila Oleksenko and Dr. Nelly Maksimovich. In August 2008 he joined the Borguet group for 1 year as a research scholar to perform research work on SAW Humidity and Hydrogen sensors, and to experience some modern microscopy techniques (AFM, STM etc).

In November 2011 Andrii Buvailo obtained Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University (Ukraine).

Since febuary 2012, Andrii Buvailo was appointed a director at YUNASKO-Ukraine LLC (www.yunasko.com), a company which is active in R&D on ultracapacitors.
Ultracapacitors, also known as supercapacitors or electric double layer capacitors, represent a type of energy storage devices with extremely high specific power. They are used for various applications in transport (start stop systems, KERS, hybrid vehicles), industrial applications, smart grids and many others.
