I use the first two volumes of Lawmaking and Legislators in Pennsylvania- A Biograhical Dictionary often. It is the most fundamental and valuable on-going project in early Pennsylvania history. I purchased each volume as soon as it appeared, and I keep them with my most frequently consulted reference works, right by my desk. As you know, I am writing a seven-volume biography of Benjamin Franklin. I find the volumes of Lawmaking and Legislators in PennsyIvania indispensable in my work and know they must be to anyone whose writing concerns early Pennsylvania history.

You and your editorial learn have my congratulations and respect for the enormous achievement represented by the first two volumes. I sincerely hope that you may be able to find the necessary funds to continue this great undertaking.
