Computer Labs and IT Center

The Architecture Department IT Center and Computer labs currently provide service to over three hundred students and approximately thirty staff both full and part-time. These services range from keeping and providing a stable and secure work environment for the students to enabling the Faculty to incorporate Digital media into their teaching repertoire, through media carts and plotting facilities.

The student experience in architecture is greatly defined by the usability and flexibility of the IT environment. As students arrive in the department they are given an account which is their link to the resources available to them. These resources sole purpose is to enrich and encourage the design process.

Workstations are located throughout all floors of the Architecture Department, distributed into open bays adjacent to the studio spaces as well as a research lab on the 8th floor and teaching lab on the 9th floor.

An added resource is the new TECH Center, a 600+ computer workstation facility located one block away. which includes dedicated workstations for Architecture students.
