Mr. Woodward has been with Susan Maxman & Partners Architects since 1997 and was named a Principal of the firm in 2003. The firm is known for its sustainable design work and has produced projects representing a wide variety of program types, contexts, and client groups. He was the recipient of the 2003 Young Architect Award given by AIA Philadelphia for demonstrated excellence and exceptional contributions to the field of architecture. He is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional. Since 1998, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Community Design Collaborative of AIA Philadelphia, a volunteer organization providing preliminary design services to non-profit groups in the region. He served as co-chair of the Board in 2003 and 2004. Mr. Woodward has published recent essays in the Philadelphia CityPaper on urban community and green design issues. While at Penn State, he received the Faculty Thesis Award for his project which was sited at the Three Mile Island nuclear facility and explored the relationship of technology to society.
