Amy Rivera is the president of Rivera Structural Design, LLC, an established structural engineering practice with expertise in commercial, healthcare, institutional and residential construction projects. The firm was established by Ms. Rivera in 2002 and has performed design services for over 100 successful projects. Clients include architects, building owners, contractors, design build firms and homeowners.

Prior to beginning her own firm, Amy Rivera acquired 16 years of professional experience with an architectural/engineering firm performing structural engineering services at all phases of the projects including the preparation and design of detailed structural drawings and specifications for public facilities. Ms. Rivera is responsible for the overall structural analysis of her projects. She works closely with the design team to examine the impact of architectural finishes and building systems on the structure.

Ms. Rivera is currently registered as a professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is on the Executive Board of the Queen Village Neighbors Association in Philadelphia. She is also on the Zoning Committee for Queen Village. Ms. Rivera founded and organizes volunteers for a plastics and mixed paper recycling drop off location in the city.

Ms. Rivera runs a “ZOOM into Engineering” Program that introduces the principles of engineering to children in grades one through six, using the platform of the popular PBS television show ZOOM.
