Juliet Whelan (Jibe Design) and Naquib Hossain (both lecturers in the Architecture Department) have won a competition for the design of affordable, sustainable homes for the Philadelphia Housing Authority. The project comprises the PHA-owned properties on the east and west sides of the 800 blocks of Markoe Street, between Brown and Ogden Streets in West Philadelphia.
The PHA will consider building the winning proposal. KBAS Architects, of whom both partners teach at Penn, won honorable mention.
