JOB ANNOUNCEMENT:
For those of you who are not graduating this semester, happen to be majors in the College of Science and Technology, and need a job for the coming academic year, look no further!
We are accepting applications for the Student
Advisor/Ombudsperson Coordinator, who oversees the grievance
procedure, coordinates student visits, and arranges the
administrative details of the SA/O program. SA/O
Coordinators are expected to work 10 self-scheduled hours
per week and are compensated at $10/hr. (More details about

CONGRATULATIONS to Hari Amin and Brandon Presley for their accomplishments!!!
Hari won an award for Best Undergraduate Student Poster awarded by the Philadelphia Section of the American Chemical Society, while Brandon was awarded Best Graduate Student Poster in the Philadelphia Section of the American Chemical Society's 8th annual Graduate Student Poster Presentation competition.
Very soon, the AMP website will feature more detailed 'stories' about their awards and research experiences.

Congratulations to Brian C. Cooper, former AMP Resident Mentor and AMP Summer Researcher, for being selected as the recipient of the 2007 Seda Tarzian Endowed Scholarshipfor his outstanding performance at the College of Science and Technology.
Brandon Presley, AMP Summer Researcher '07, was featured in an article in CST's OUTLOOK Magazine. The article stresses the importance of research and faculty mentorship.

Kow Essuman selected as recipient of the 2007 Henry A. Sloviter Student Research Award in Chemistry
The Sloviter Award is presented annually to the chemistry student who has exhibited outstanding academic achievement and to encourage excellence in research in the program.

Temple AMP Kow Essuman is one of twelve undergraduates selected to participate in National Forum
Sophomore Kow Essuman, particpant of the Summer Research Program '07, has been selected to participate in the 2007 Minority Trainee Research Forum, to take place in September in Aventura, Florida. The forum is a small, intimate four-day scientific meeting for serious trainees engaged in wet bench research from the postdoctoral, graduate, medical, undergraduate and high school levels of the biomedical pipeline. Selection is based on a national competition of abstracts from wet bench research. Twelve winning trainees from each educational level will receive a full travel fellowship to the Forum, where they will give a 15-minute oral presentation and participate in the poster session, seminars and awards dinner. The Forum is sponsored by NIH, Merck & Co., Johnson & Johnson, and Wyeth Pharmaceutical.
