Beth Bailey is a Professor of History with a long history in AmericanStudies. Her undergraduate degree is from the American Culture program at Northwestern University, and she directed the American Studies program at Barnard College and was a Professor of American Studies at the University of New Mexico. Her research is mostly on the history of gender and sexuality in 20th century America. Right now, she is writing a social/cultural history of recruiting the all-volunteer Army.
