 It is a time of change and evolution at Temple University Fort Washington as it moves into new space at 425 Commerce Drive.
The expanded space includes four newly renovated classrooms equipped with smart technology. There is also office space for students to meet with faculty members.
“This new space adds to our existing classrooms - six video-conferencing rooms, one large classroom and 30-seat computer classroom currently in the Temple space at 425 Commerce Drive,” said Marylou Delizia, Director of Temple University Fort Washington. “As all of our graduate programs come together under one roof, we feel this is an excellent opportunity for collaborative exchanges between our faculty, students, and staff.”
While classes in graduate and professional education were previously held at both 401 and 425 Commerce Drive, all classes are now located entirely at 425 Commerce Drive — just across the parking lot from the building that many of our students and faculty might be used to.
The new space provides the most convenient service and a professional educational environment, Delizia said.
During this transition, according to Delizia, the Office of Non-Credit Programs and the non-credit staff has returned to the Ambler Campus.
“The non-credit offices are located in Widener Hall, where the campus faculty offices are located — the Temple University Fort Washington and Office of Non-Credit Programs phone numbers have not changed. Staff members will continue to take care of the needs of our students and faculty whether they are at Ambler or Fort Washington campuses,” she said. “Our non-credit offerings are also expanding at the Ambler Campus. Many of our non-credit programs already enjoy the numerous amenities available at Ambler.”
The move to the newly renovated 425 Commerce Drive building brings some changes to parking for students and faculty at that location, said Delizia. All students and faculty will park in the 425 Commerce Drive parking lot — there is still no charge for parking.
“It is important to note that as we continually improve how we provide our programs and services, our commitment to our instructors and students will always be our priority,” she said. “We will continue to offer a range of graduate education credit courses and hundreds of non-credit classes throughout the year. We are still conveniently located near major highways such at Route 309 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.”
Whether someone is pursuing a new professional field, returning to the classroom to complete a master’s degree, or simply taking courses for personal enrichment, “we hope they’ll join us this spring at 425 Commerce Drive,” Delizia said.
