STUDENT
SERVICES
Temple University Ambler is a full-service campus with a vast array of offices and programs to assist students in achieving
educational success.
Academic and Career Development
West Hall 109
215-283-1237
A dedicated, friendly staff of professional and faculty advisors help students develop a program of study that's best suited to their educational goals. Enjoy
advisors who are knowledgeable in your field of study that can assist you with a career choice and help guide you through the course selection process. Temple
University Ambler also offers full registration services to students, including the convenience of telephone registration. You can meet with an
advisor, sign up for courses, and pay your bill entirely at Ambler.
Academic
Advisors attempt to avoid errors when advising students about their program requirements, but schools and colleges cannot assume liability for errors in advising. Therefore, students must assume primary responsibility for knowing
the requirements for their degree and for acquiring current information about their academic status.
Each school, college, and campus of the University offers a full component of academic advising for students.
For many academic actions, the approval of an academic
advisor or of the student’s dean’s office is required.
Please stop in to see us in West Hall 109 or call 215-283-1237 for an appointment. We look forward to helping you with your academic career at Temple University
Ambler.

Patti Vorndran
West Hall

215-283-1237
Temple
University Ambler’s Career Development Coordinator will discuss job
search strategies and help you develop a résumé, meet potential employers,
and improve your interviewing skills. The office features career fairs,
programs highlighting various majors, a career library, on-campus job
placement assistance and general career advising. The office maintains
current directories of the business, education, and government sectors to
help students find names, addresses, and positions of potential employers.
Extern Programs
West Hall 109
215-283-1237
This program offers students an opportunity to explore options in a “real-world” professional setting. Students accepted into the program shadow an employer-sponsor and attend a class during the Winter Break period -- usually the first, full two weeks in January. Students accepted as Externs also attend
workshops on résumé writing and interviewing techniques. Upon completion of the entire program, i.e. both the work experience, classroom assignments, and workshops, students earn 2-3 credits.
Center for Student Professional Development
West Hall 115
215-283-1394
The Fox School of Business and Management advising offices and the Center for Student Professional Development (CSPD) provide a career development curriculum, freshman seminar, and leadership development opportunities with local
chapters of national business organizations. CSPD is a
"must" for business students who want to be on the cutting edge!
Disability Resources and Services (DSR)
Susan

West Hall 109

Our goal is to provide an environment where students with disabilities can reach their educational goals through appropriate academic adjustments and accommodations as mandated under the American with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Frequently requested accommodations include extended time for tests, test proctoring,
notetaking, and adaptive computer accommodations and training. Ambler’s DSR coordinator is in close contact with the DSR at the Main Campus.
These offices work closely together providing qualified students appropriate
accommodations no matter their campus location – whether it is an Ambler student taking classes at the Main Campus or a Main Campus student taking classes at the Ambler Campus.
Contact us
as soon as possible, so there is adequate time to put the necessary
accommodations in place.

STUDENT ELECTRONIC INFORMATION POLICY
Purpose of Policy: Temple University
seeks to employ state-of-the-art technology to facilitate communication
between students, faculty, staff and administration. Due to the rapidly
expanding use of e-mail, students can now take classes in an entirely
online environment and can contact advisors and administrative offices
without every visiting an office. This policy is driven by the
convenience, accuracy, speed and cost-effectiveness of utilizing e-mail
rather than printed communication. As a result, e-mail can now be used as
an official means of communication within Temple University.
University Use of E-mail: E-mail can
now be used as an official means of communication within the Temple
University community. Therefore, Temple University has the right to send
official communications to students via e-mail and the right to expect
that those communications will be received and read in a timely fashion.
Assignment of Student E-mail Addresses:
All students are required to obtain an @temple.edu e-mail address upon
their entrance into the University. New students are issued an Accessnet
username to be used as the first part of their @temple.edu e-mail address. All official University e-mail
correspondence will be sent to this address. This address will be listed
as the official address for each student in the student's records.
E-mail Forwarding: A student may have
e-mail electronically forwarded from the @temple.edu account to another
e-mail account at his or her own risk. Temple wil not be responsible for
the handling of e-mail by outside vendors, e.g. hotmail.com, aol.com.
Having e-mail redirected does not absolve the student from the
responsibilities associated with communication sent to his or her e-mail
address.
Expectations regarding Students Use of E-mail:
Students are expected to check their e-mail accounts on a frequent
and consistent basis in order to stay current with Temple University communications.
Some communications may be time critical so it is imperative that students
check their accounts regularly, just as they would be expected to check
their U.S. mail regularly.
