LIFE
The Office of Student Life affords opportunities for students to develop
special skills and interests, to interact regularly with other students, and
to plan and manage events. Students can also gain experience in leadership
training, self-governance, and community service.

Student
Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures
An important aspect of attending college
is taking responsibility for one's actions. In addition to exhibiting
maturity and self control, members of the University community are expected
to conduct themselves in ways that they cause no harm to others and
that they neither break laws nor contribute to the delinquency of
others. Take a moment and click on the website to review the Student
Code of Conduct and know your responsibilities and rights as a Temple
student.
Career-Related Organizations
Get a jump on your career with organizations such as the
Communications Society, the Psychology/Criminal Justice Society, the Pre-Law
Society, the Society for Exceptional Educators and more. These
organizations sponsor various guest speakers and host special events related
to specific fields.
Students in the Landscape Architecture/Horticulture Department
have the Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Student Association and Pi Alpha Xi - the national honors society for students of Floriculture, Landscape, and Ornamental Horticulture
associations to choose from.
Business majors and others interested in high finance have the
Ambler Accounting Professionals Society, the American Marketing
Association, the Banking and Finance Club, the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honors Society,
the Society for Human Resources Management, the Economics Society and the
Temple Ambler Business Society.
FERPA/Privacy Guidelines
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 ("FERPA") provides the following rights for students and for the parents of dependent students attending Temple University:
a. The right of a student, with minor limitations, to inspect and review his or her education records;
b. The right to request amendment of a student's education records to ensure that they are not inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of the student's privacy or other rights;
c. The right, with certain exceptions, to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the student's education records;
d. The right to withhold public disclosure of any or all items of so-called "Directory Information" by written notification to the Office of the Dean of Students within two weeks after publication of this notice.
Under current University policy, the item "Directory Information" includes a student's name, street address, email
address, confirmation of enrollment status (full-time/part-time), dates of attendance, degree received, awards received
(e.g., Dean’s List), major field of study, participation in officially recognized activities and sports and weight and
height of members of athletic teams. [1]
e. The right to file a complaint with the Department of Education concerning the alleged failure of Temple University to comply with the requirements of FERPA and of the implementing regulations.
The procedures for exercising the above rights are explained in "Temple University's Guidelines Pertaining to Confidentiality of Student Records," copies of which are available in the office of the Dean of
Students at Main Campus and in Academic and Career Development, West Hall
109 at Temple University Ambler. Included in the Guidelines is a description of the types and locations of educational records maintained by the University.
If you or your parents' primary or home language is not English, upon your request, reasonable efforts will be made to provide you with a translated copy of this "Annual Notice," as well as with "Temple University's Guidelines Pertaining to Confidentiality of Student Records."

FERPA Waiver
A
student may consent to the release of information from education records to
parents, guardians, or other appropriate persons. The students may
provide the University with their consent by completing the FERPA Waiver
on-line via OWLnet. (http://owlnet.temple.edu)
Greek Life
Alpha Chi Rho, a national social/service fraternity; Gamma Sigma Sigma, a service sorority; Sigma Chi Delta, a national social/service sorority; and Pi Phi, also a social/service sorority, have chapters at Temple University Ambler. The Greek organizations are all involved in various events and fundraisers on and off-campus. The
Greek Council is the governing board of the Greek organizations on-campus.

Alpha Chi Rho
A national service fraternity, Alpha Chi Rho
sponsors annual charity events such as the Polar Bear Dive and the 24-Hour
Volleyball marathon. Ambler Accounting
Professional Society
A professional development society for
accounting majors that works closely with Beta Alpha Psi, the national
accounting honor society.
Ambler Owl Reach
A student-run organization dedicated to community service on Ambler
Campus, in Ambler Borough, and throughout the region.
Ambler Poker Players Association
A student organization dedicated to teaching the sport of poker to
beginners and experts alike.

American Marketing Association
This organization focuses on professional
development for marketing majors.
Banking and Finance Club
This organization focuses on professional
development for business students. Guest speakers have included financial
analyst Fred Sherman of KYW 1060-AM radio.
Beta Alpha Psi
Featuring special events and speakers, this
national accounting honor society has a chapter at Ambler.
Brothers and Sisters United
This organization serves the interests of
African-American and minority students. They co-sponsor the annual Kwanzaa
celebration.

Communications Society
This group focuses on professional development
for students in the field of communications and theater.
Criminal Justice Society
A professional organization for criminal
justice majors, which hosts off-campus field trips, career seminars, and
guest speakers. 2003 Student Leadership Awards honor: Student Organization
of the Year.
Equestrian Team
Unique to Ambler, this nationally recognized
group regularly competes in area horse shows.
Gamma
Sigma Sigma Sorority
A national service sorority, the Gamma Sigma
Sigma sorority sponsors various fundraisers, including the annual
Easter Egg Hunt and a silent auction for the American Cancer Society.
Hillel
Hillel is a thriving campus organization that
celebrates Jewish culture with events and activities throughout the year.
Hillel is open to all students regardless of ethnic or religious background.
2003 Student Leadership Awards honor: Russell Conwell Award.
Indian American Association
An organization founded in Fall 2005, the Indian-American Association
united Indian-American students and provides cultural and social programs at
Ambler throughout the year.
Landscape Architecture and Horticulture Student
Association
This organization, which includes a PA/DE
student chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, sponsors
the annual Halloween Hayride, plant sales, and other fundraising activities.

Latinos Unidos
Latinos Unidos at Ambler provides support for
students of Latino heritage. The organization is an information resource for
current Latino students and also seeks to inform the campus community about
Latino heritage and culture.
L.I.N.C (Learning to Include Numerous Culture)
LINC is an organization unique to Ambler,
designed to educate the campus community about the world’s cultures.
Night O.W.L.S. (Organizing Work, Life, and School)
This organization provides a forum for
students above the traditional college age.
Organization of African Students
This new organization unites students of African descent and provides
cultural programs at the Ambler campus.
Parable
Students, faculty, and staff have an outlet for their artistic talents.
The Parable, Temple University Ambler’s literary and arts journal, is
published during the spring semester. While The Parable works
throughout the year to publish the literary magazine, the organization also
hosts a variety of events, such as "coffeehouse" music and poetry nights.

Pi Alpha Xi
This organization is a national honor society
for students of Floriculture, Landscape, and Ornamental Horticulture.
Pi
Phi Sorority
A local social/service sorority, the
organization helps with various fundraisers for charitable groups throughout
the area, including Plant Ambler, the Philadelphia Foundation, and the
Special Olympics.

Sigma Lambda Alpha
This organization is a national honor society
for Landscape Architecture students. Students must be of junior standing to

March of Dimes and the Sunshine Foundation throughout the year.

Society for Exceptional Educators
This professional organization, comprised of
education majors, sponsors book drives and reading programs for children in
the community.
Society for Human Resource Management
This organization provides professional
development opportunities for human resource management majors.

The organization provides professional
development opportunities for business majors.
The Temple Column
The Temple Column
student newspaper provides challenge and excitement for future writers,
reporters, copy editors, advertisers, photographers, cartoonists,
columnists, and editors. Whether you are a communications major hoping for a
career in print journalism, a business student interested in advertising and
sales, or just want to contribute to the school newspaper, The Temple
Column, offers an array of practical experience.
Transfer Student Organization (T.S.O.)
The Transfer Student Organization offers
programs and opportunities for students who have recently transferred to
Temple University Ambler.

United Voices of Praise
A two-part religious organization — one part
Bible study and a second part gospel choir — the group performs during
Convocation and a variety of events throughout the year.
WRFT 1610-AM
Temple University Ambler’s radio station is
managed and operated entirely by students. WRFT provides a great way to
learn the business and art of mass communication. WRFT's departments in
music, promotions, and advertising provide Ambler students with hands-on
experience in these fields. WRFT 1610-AM broadcasts music formats from Top
40 to rap, from rock to blues, and from jazz to folk.
Parking Regulations

Bursar's Office
All Temple University students,
faculty, and staff parking motor vehicles, including motorcycles, on the
Ambler Campus must purchase a parking decal/hangtag each year.
Decal/hang-tags are sold at the Bursar's Office, Room 101, West Hall.
You will receive a parking citation, if you do not have a parking permit.
During the first two weeks of each semester, a courtesy
warning will be placed on the windshields of all vehicles that do not
display decal/hang-tags. After the two-week grace period, parking
citations will be issued. Handicapped Parking is
available for students and employees with physical disabilities. Purchase of a Temple University decal/hang-tag is required. Unauthorized parking in handicapped spaces is a violation and is also
subject to a parking citation.

From making the three pointer on the basketball court to burning calories in the weight room, Temple University Ambler has a variety of recreational facilities to stay fit and active. The campus offers both indoor and outdoor basketball courts, a sand volleyball pit, tennis courts, and an Olympic-sized indoor/outdoor swimming
pool. The fitness center features a fully equipped weight room that includes aerobic equipment such as a Stairmaster, cycles, and treadmills and strengthening and toning equipment including a Universal machine, free weights and benches. Lockers and showers are available.
Temple University AIDS Policy
Consistent with its existent non-discrimination policies, Temple University will not discriminate on the basis of an individual's HIV status.
Specifically, no person shall be subject to adverse employment actions solely because of non-job related handicap, and reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate an employee with HIV disease consistent with the then-current state of scientific knowledge on transmission of the disease; nor
shall any person be denied academic admission, access to Temple University programs, facilities,
