Please note: Due to PennDOT construction along Route 309, several ramp closures will be in effect from now through 2009. Please plan accordingly and follow the suggested detour routes.

From Temple University's Main Campus and Points South:

• Broad Street north to Cheltenham Avenue (approximately 6 miles).
• Turn left at Cheltenham Avenue. Follow signs to Route 309 North (approximately 1¼ miles).
• Turn right at Route 309 and proceed to Susquehanna Road Exit (approximately 6½ ).
• Turn left on Susquehanna Road. Proceed ½ mile to Butler Pike.
• Turn right on Butler Pike. Proceed approximately ½ mile to Meetinghouse Road.
• Turn right and proceed approximately ½ mile to entrance of Temple University Ambler. Entrance is on left, parking lot is on right.

From Points North via Route 309/Bethlehem Pike:

• Follow Route 309/Bethlehem Pike south.
• When Route 309 and Bethlehem Pike split, follow Bethlehem Pike (approximately 2.7 miles).
• From Bethlehem Pike, make a left onto East Butler Pike. (approximately 1 mile)
• Make a right onto Meetinghouse Road.
• Proceed approximately ½ mile to Temple University Ambler. Campus on left, parking lot is on right.

From the East (Abington, Huntingdon Valley):

• Take Susquehanna Road West.
• Turn right on Butler Pike.
• Turn right on Meetinghouse Road and proceed approximately ½ mile to Temple University Ambler.
• Campus on left, parking lot is on right.

From the West (Reading, Pottstown, Limerick):

• Take Route 422 East to Route 202 North.
• Briefly take Route 202 North to I-76 West (look for signs to Pennsylvania Turnpike).
• Take I-76 briefly to Pennsylvania Turnpike.
• Take Exit 339 (Fort Washington exit), follow signs to Route 309 North, proceed to Susquehanna Road exit (approximately 2 miles).
• Turn left on Susquehanna Road. Proceed ½ mile to Butler Pike.
• Turn right on Butler Pike. Proceed approximately ½ mile to Meetinghouse Road.
• Turn right and proceed approximately ½ mile to entrance of Temple University Ambler. Entrance is on left, parking lot is on right.

From the South via I-95 (Delaware and Maryland):

• Take I-95 to I-476 exit. Follow I-476 North 18 miles to Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit.
• Take Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) East to Exit 339 (Fort Washington exit).
• Take Exit 339, follow signs to Route 309 North, proceed to Susquehanna Road exit (approximately 2 miles).
• Turn left on Susquehanna Road. Proceed ½ mile to Butler Pike.
• Turn right on Butler Pike. Proceed approximately ½ mile to Meetinghouse Road.
• Turn right and proceed approximately ½ mile to entrance of Temple University Ambler. Entrance is on left, parking lot is on right.

From the South via I-476 (Blue Route):

• Follow I-476 North to Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit.
• Take Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) east to Exit 339 (Fort Washington exit).
• Take Exit 339 (Fort Washington exit), follow signs to Route 309 North, proceed to Susquehanna Road exit (approximately 2 miles).
• Turn left on Susquehanna Road. Proceed ½ mile to Butler Pike.
• Turn right on Butler Pike. Proceed approximately ½ mile to Meetinghouse Road.
• Turn right and proceed approximately ½ mile to entrance of Temple University Ambler. Entrance is on left, parking lot is on right.

From Philadelphia via I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway):

• Follow I-76 West to I-476 North (Exit 331B).
• Follow I-476 North to Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit.
• Take Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) east to Exit 339 (Fort Washington exit).
• Take Exit 339 (Fort Washington exit), follow signs to Route 309 North, proceed to Susquehanna Road exit (approximately 2 miles).
• Turn left on Susquehanna Road. Proceed ½ mile to Butler Pike.
• Turn right on Butler Pike. Proceed approximately ½ mile to Meetinghouse Road.
• Turn right and proceed approximately ½ mile to entrance of Temple University Ambler. Entrance is on left, parking lot is on right.

From the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Take Exit 339 (Fort Washington exit), follow signs to Route 309 North, proceed to Susquehanna Road exit (approximately 2 miles).
• Turn left on Susquehanna Road. Proceed ½ mile to Butler Pike.
• Turn right on Butler Pike. Proceed approximately ½ mile to Meetinghouse Road.
• Turn right and proceed approximately ½ mile to entrance of Temple University Ambler. Entrance is on left, parking lot is on right.

From New Jersey via the Lambertville-New Hope Bridge:

• Take Route 202 South to Route 152 East (Limekiln Pike).
• Turn right onto Fort Washington Avenue.
• Turn right onto Meetinghouse Road.
• Campus on left, parking lot is on right.

From New Jersey via the New Jersey Turnpike:

• Take new jersey Turnpike to Exit 6, which connects you to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276).
• Follow directions from Pennsylvania Turnpike above.

From New Jersey via Tacony-Palmyra Bridge:

• After crossing Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, stay straight on Levick Street.
• Turn left onto Tookany Parkway (Melrose Country Club on left).
• Turn right onto Cheltenham Avenue.
• Turn right onto Route 309 North and proceed to Susquehanna Road Exit (approximately 6½ ).
• Turn left on Susquehanna Road. Proceed ½ mile to Butler Pike.
• Turn right on Butler Pike. Proceed approximately ½ mile to Meetinghouse Road.
• Turn right and proceed approximately ½ mile to entrance of Temple University Ambler. Entrance is on left, parking lot is on right.

Public Transportation

SEPTA Regional High Speed Lines:

The Paoli-Doylestown line (R5) makes at least one stop an hour from 5 a.m. to midnight at the Ambler train station. The University provides free bus service to and from Temple University Ambler during the fall and spring semesters.

Bus Services:

Three SEPTA buses stop about 2 miles from campus. The 94 and 134 buses run along Bethlehem Pike from Chestnut Hill Loop to the Montgomery Mall, and the 98 runs from Norristown to Willow Grove. 

If you wish to switch from a SEPTA bus to the TU shuttle, take the 94 or 98 to the Ambler Regional Rail station and wait for the shuttle there. If you want to walk or bicycle to campus from a SEPTA bus, take the 94, 98, or 134 to Lindenwold Ave. and Bethlehem Pike and follow the walking/bicycling directions.

Inter-Campus Bus Service:

          Note: On Friday all bus services to HSC and Main Campus from Ambler stop after the 5:30 p.m. run.

           Note: On Friday all bus services from Main Campus to Ambler stop after the 6:30 p.m. run.

During the fall and spring semesters, free bus service is available between various University campuses. Stops are made at Ambler, the Fort Washington campus (night only), the Health Science Campus, and Main Campus.

These routes are intended to accommodate students traveling between campuses. Staff and faculty can use this service on a space available basis. Each person must present a valid Temple ID upon boarding.

Walking or Biking (Ambler Borough to Ambler Campus)

• From the Ambler Regional Rail station at Butler Ave.: walk northeast on Butler (towards Main St. and Spring Garden St.) for 0.3 miles.
• Turn RIGHT and walk on Lindenwold Ave. for 0.6 miles.  (Cross Bethlehem Pike after 0.3 miles – this is the only dangerous street crossing on the route.  Be careful!)
• (Note: if you are coming on the 94 or 134 bus, you can get off at Lindenwold and Bethlehem and follow Lindenwold to meet up with these directions.)
• Turn RIGHT on Lake Drive and continue for 0.2 miles.
• Turn RIGHT on Loch Alsh Blvd. and continue for approximately 0.3 miles until you pass under the Highway 309 overpass.
• Turn LEFT on the road immediately past Highway 309 – Spark Dr.  Continue 0.5 miles on Spark Dr. to Susquehanna Rd. 
• Cross to the other side of Susquehanna Rd., using the pedestrian crossing light, then turn RIGHT on Susquehanna Rd. and continue 0.1 miles.
• Turn LEFT at Joel Dr and continue for 0.5 miles to Meetinghouse Rd.
• Turn LEFT on Meetinghouse Rd. and campus is less than 0.1 miles on your right. 

Total distance from train station: 2.5 miles

Total distance from bus stop at Lindenwold and Bethlehem: 1.9 miles
